Is Mining around a Claim allowed?

Hey

I have started a mining tunnel near my base and so far its reached about 2500 blocks long. I've just hit a claim, and was wondering if there was any rules against just mining around it to continue the Tunnel.

If it's unclaimed, yes.

as long as you don't do something trolly like an obsidian box around the persons land or make additional claims. the new rules are there to stop things like that not casual tunneling...
