So I’ve been wondering for a while now, is skyblock really pay to win? I know higher ranks get some advantages like /fly and things like /condense etc.. but is it actually necessary to have a rank to get good at the game? As I’ve seen many high level is players with low ranks and some even without any rank.

yeah, you grind, but there isn't really a "win"
Agreed, /fly and /condense are definitely must haves but it’s pretty simple, just a bit time consuming, to grind for irl deals for rankups. Jeffak worked his way up from default to comet all this season.
