Is Invaded Lands Survival dead? Yes, It has been losing players due to multiple things, but is it really dead? (idk why I wrote this, no one asked for it lol)

A minecraft server being "dead" means that it has dropped its player amount by a lot, and that has happened with smaller servers, but has it ever happened to Invadedlands Survival, and has it continued on to today?

Survival has been deemed Dead many times, especially at the end of last season, when a reporting of only 7 players online occurred. This is a rare occurrence, but when it happens, its usually means players are bored of the server, and have moved on to something else.

Right now over 100 people are playing on survival, and it constantly gets 100+ players during the day (EST times and times near it), while in later hours such as 4 Am EST, it will have around 50 players. All of this means that survival is technically not "dead". 100+ players on a survival server on Invaded lands is a lot, especially with other people playing on kit pvp and skyblock. In total Invadedlands is not dead, and survival is not dead, but the definition of dead has been argued before (I saw it in chat a while ago lol).

When someone mentions a "Dead" minecraft server, they normally are talking about a server that had a peak time, but then the player rate dropped and now no one is playing them anymore. This is true for The Splash (Skeppys other server) where the player rate only increases when skeppy makes a video on it. Im not sure, but last time I checked, the splash had under 1 row in tab of people. This can make the server be considered "dead".

On the other hand, people can also talk about a dead minecraft server that still has lots of players on. Some people call Mineplex a dead server, but it still has way more players that invadedlands and most other servers.
How can this be? It is because most of the people who play these servers are "nons". They are random people just playing the server to have fun or are not known in the community well. They usually dont come back to it, or usually return to it once in a while.

Using this information, we can see that over 3/4 of survivals player base are "nons" and are default ranks. Some of them are well known by the community, but most are not. Many well known players have quit this season due to better things to do. This can be shown by the amount of Top rank (immortals) on the server during the beginning of the reset and now. At the beginning of the reset, the player tab list had 2 and a half rows filled with immortal players and the rest titans (2nd highest rank). Right now, barely the 1st row of tab is filled with all ranked players (most of the time). This provides evidence that many of the well known immortals and titans have quit. The server is now left with over 3/4 of it being "nons" and many people quitting. Does this mean Invadedlands survival is "dead"?

If we look deeper, we can see that "nons" are not that well known players by the community, but what counts as the community, and the main part of it. Do the 2 and a half page of immortals still count as the "survival community"? I believe that they do still count, but not as much as active people. I believe that the more active you are, the more part of the community you are. This is not always true such as very well known players can stay in the main part of the susvival community, even while being partly inactive.

All this means that "nons" are determined by whether or not the Active part of survival knows you or not. This would lead to a cycle. If survival keeps getting 100+ people a day, more and more people come. The more active someone is, the less "non" they become. If there is always at least 50 people on, at least one of them has to be more well known than the others.

From this we can conclude that out of the 3/4 of the server being defaults, about 1/4 of them are not nons because most of the active community (default ranks) know who those not "non" people are. Not everyone can not become a non on a 100+ server, so having about over 1/4 of the people on the server not being "nons", we can conclude that Invadedlands survival is NOT dead, and won't be for a while.

But this raises the problem, how do we get those people who quit to come back, and how do we raise the player rate of survival? Read my next post to find out (Probably my next post lol), Might write it.

If you have any questions or comments, please put them in the replies. I am not right on everything in this post, so don't give to harsh criticism lol.

Also fill out the question, "Is Invadedlands survival dead", I want to know what the community thinks of this.

Tl;DR- Survival is not dead, as it has over 50 players at almost all times, and usually has over 100. A "dead" server only gets about one row of players. If the tab list is full of nons or not well-known people, it is often mistaken for a "dead" server. Most of survivals' player base is nons and not well-known people. If survival keeps getting 100+ people, more and more people will come. We can conclude from this information that survival is not "dead". How do we get people to come back? Lucky might write a post about it later. Pat is god.

Tell me if I missed a key detail c:

Yes it's dead and no it's not dead. It's dead in regards to the player base dropping by the hundreds. I remember when the sever reached over 1000 concurrent members. But it's not dead in the fact that it still has players.

its dead. If we look at the numbers from back in april it had around 175 players on all the time with a queue.

Nah it’s not dead it’s just so damn boring because it’s always filled with randoms, I’ll prolly be quitting soon ngl

Good post by you Mr Block.

Could've even explained how since corona lock-downs have eased and people have begun school/ working again all servers have reduced in player numbers.

server only reached 1k plus players from 700+ people queuing for event-a, only ~300 of those players were actually playing the gamemodes, so i would say player count has stayed the same

I do not believe it's dead.
However, I think this all matters on perspective, or peoples own definition of a "Dead Server"
How I understand dead servers is that the server has got little to no players compared to what it should have, and that those few players haven't spent time and effort into that server.
Survival is not dead in my opinion.

I take advantage of randoms and nons by just tp'ng to them, I like seeing what they're doing
some guy and his friends made a base in a ravine once, that was pretty cool

I think ya'll are somewhat lying to yourselfs. A dead server doesn't necessarily mean it barely gets players. As someone that plays Mineplex I do consider it dead because it rarely gets NEW players and the player counts are very low compared to what they used to be. And I think this logic can be applied to Invaded over all. Looking past the player spike that corona gave the server I can confidently say that player counts are definitely lower now than they were in 2019. Not to mention that most of tab are nons. Before covid existed the server had more traction and more players. A big factor about this has a lot do with skeppy he stopped making videos meaning not many new people come online. This has caused a noticeable drop in players.

They're on the rise again in the States. We're due for another round of lockdowns.
