is this phrase racist

is this phrase racist

No. Mentioning someone's race is not racist. Being discriminatory towards someone because of their race is racist. There's a difference between "I have a friend who's black" (not racist) vs "Black people are dumb" (racist).

"i can't believe that you are black you are weird"
I wouldn't say it's racist, but it is still offensive in some ways, since because the person is 'black' you automatically assume they're weird.

In my opinion, no. It's not racist to just mention someone's race, but I do think that you can phrase that sentence better, and comments like that are largely unnecessary (then again I don't know the context so).

"i can't believe that you are black you are weird"
Its a little bit racist (like a tiny bit because of the part you called them weird).
Its better if you say a nice thing about the person's race. That way they won't be offended at all.

guys to clear this up, im the one being called weird. I said he is racist, but he said it isn't. So i took here for answers.

It’s not “racist” but you’re better off not saying it, because someone might associate it that way.
i'm not saying this! people keep thinking im the one saying this. I would never. Someone said this to me.

Well from what it looks like to me, it seems like they’re saying that they are weird BECAUSE they are black. Imo you shouldn’t mention race whatsoever because it is often a very sensitive topic to talk about. However it isn’t racist pointing out a race. I feel like there’s context missing here tbh

It is racist, inane people.

He was implying that being black should be different from that of his actions at the moment. That exemplifies racism, as black people can have different personalities, not just one specific one that is "right".
"i can't believe that you are black you are weird"
yes, that is racist.

I think if they meant it as "you are weird because you are black" it is racist. However, if the phrases are unlinked and he's just mentioning that you are black and separately mentioning that you are weird it's not racist. In my opinion, it seems like he's linking them which would be a little racist.
