Locking

Hey everyone. I have been on the forums for a few hours and I noticed that staff locks threads and stuff. And something called Necropost. Can someone please explain me why staff locks and what Necropost means?

Necropost means that someone replies to a thread that is old, and the thread pops up first and hiding the newer ones. Staff locks them, so that no one else can message there (plz tell me you understood somth)

Ok, but sometimes they just lock random threads. Do they break the Forum rules?

they can lock for a few different reasons like as jarks said necroposting also if a thread is toxic or becoming toxic it’ll be locked to prevent it any further

They could also lock threads to prevent an argument, or of it's people complaining about their ban
