Hi, so my name is Candi, and I have been playing this survival server for a bit of time now. It's really fun and I love meeting new people, hanging out, building cool bases, etc. There's just one thing that has bothered me for a while now, and it's that griefing only counts if it goes into someone's claim.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that if someone is making so called "cobble monsters" in the wild it damages no one's builds except maybe makes the environment look a little less nice. However, if there are unclaimed spots near someone's base/in someone's base, it's an easy way to get attention, ruin someone's build, make people mad and get away with it easily. :(

Here's a recent example. (I hope the link works)
Even though the entire town is ruined and they can't clean it up, it's not bannable :(

I'm just making this post in an effort to try and get it out there, does anyone else think this should be punishable? I just think it's unfair to people who have spent time on their builds just to have the surroundings/near it griefed with no punishment for it.

Thank you for reading :)

What cowfricker said about his grief only proves my point. There's countless ways to get around getting punished for griefing and it sucks :(. It's unfair to people who spend time on their builds and towns to be griefed, to be unable to get rid of the grief, and to have the griefer not get punished for it.

"any methods that bypasses the restriction is not allowed" what this means is unclaimed land is fair game
Yes, that is why I made this post. I know what you did and what others do is not bannable. That's exactly why I made a forum post about it; I think it should be bannable due to the fact that it's still griefing and it still ruins people's builds. I wanted to kind of get it out there that this is a problem. :(

This won't get implemented. It's already quite hard to keep track of griefers unless you record them while they do it, if they did it and you have no concrete evidence of them doing it, then they won't get punished. It's gonna be even worse to have to record griefers that grief OUTSIDE a claimed area and report them. This is also dumb to implement unless you're running a city, but even then you should've gotten enough claim blocks to get enough space to ensure people won't grief around it. Sorry but -1 on this I disagree with making griefing entirely against the rules.

just claim it, and if you dont have the claim blocks then wait building, im sorry about what happened but it could've been easily avoided if it was claimed.
Saying a player isn't allowed to break blocks that aren't claimed would be the same as telling them they're not allowed to break blocks at all.

That makes sense. I don't like it but you're right on how it is hard to keep track of. It would be difficult to have evidence of "griefing" if it is outside a claimed area and lava casts and tree-griefing (kinda) are already blocked from going into claims. If the intent was there I feel like there could be reason, but it seems really subjective.

It's a little hard to gather claim blocks when at the beginning of the season so people might have trouble claiming their whole town/area but I guess there's always going to be people like this. It's unfair and I wish something could be done about it to make it easier to keep track of/prevent :/
