Management

Other than the council, I agree. Management here from an outside perspective is an absolute atrocity, and it's evident that there's quite a large divide between the staff members (not every single one, but potentially the majority) and the playerbase. It seems that often times, staff and players are not nearly on the same page in regards to how suggestions should be implemented (the council was extremely helpful in bridging that gap, so thank you), reports and appeals should be handled, etc.

For an example, take the appeals of Mistix or Chainkiller. Mistix had an appeal under review for half a year. After his rather patient waiting, he was finally met with a verdict of "denied." No reason provided, no explanation, nothing. Six months of waiting for a single word. Chainkiller, on the other hand, has been repeatedly denied any chance to play legitimately on the server due to (I presume) his ban for duping, as well as his subsequent ban evading and overall toxicity. Do I like him as a player? Absolutely not. Does he deserve a fair chance to play on the server, and be treated like the numerous other players who were unbanned/unblacklisted in the past? Of course.

As for the reports system, they have severely improved on forums (reports are getting regularly resolved in under 24 hours now, and often even less than that), but in-game reporting is still practically impossible. Whether you PM an online staff member, use the /report feature, or complain in public chat, absolutely nothing seems to get the attention of online staff members. I fully understand that, often, the staff members are busy doing something important. As shown by a few examples in the past, though (such as a thread I remember on the old forums, where a player was asking for help from Luke, who decided to ignore the player and toggle his PMs), this is not always the case. Myself and the rest of the community don't expect perfection from the staff team, but we do expect communication, and by ignoring us, you're shutting down a vital part of what makes a server great.

Currently, Invaded is thriving. Although it has been larger at some points in the past, the server is still currently the largest KitPvP server currently online, is owned and frequented by many Youtubers, and has a relatively tight-knit community if you know where to go. However, with the lack of the communication, new gameplay (although the minor features added are very much appreciated), etc... At the rate the server is progressing currently, I feel like it's not only possible, but likely, that the server will be halved in terms of activity by the end of 2020.

+1 agreed a lot with everything you said almost as if I said it myself. I also want to add how the anti-cheat tends to false ban a lot of players, causing for a huge amount of ban appeals that staff have to go through so they just make you plead guilty most times for a reduce. I don't understand why they just automate this process by having the first time be a temp 30d ban and the second time a perm ban like most servers instead of overworking staff with all the appeals.

I'm back...
This time I'd like to introduce a new topic.
Management and what they're doing wrong
While yes, this topic was introduced on the forums multiple times, I would like to discuss more ideas to why.

I'd like to start off with the commonly discussed topics.
this thread will also include issues with the staff team.
Skeppy's Events
I'd like to start it off with our beloved owner: Zak / Skeppy.
If you're an active subscriber of Zak / player of InvadedLands, it's not hard to notice Skeppy's events such as "I trapped 100 kids in a bedrock box" or parkour related challenges, etc.
You'd think that there's no reason to worry, that he's just treating his active members of the server with a fun little event.
Unfortunately there's so much wrong with what he's doing.
First off, he never gives some sort of heads up that he's about to send everyone to the event server, but does it without thinking about the gear lost while doing so, due to combat logging.
This results in players looking gear they paid hundreds even thousands disappear within seconds, because their beloved owner wanted video content.

Second, after this does happen, no refund is given to those who lost their gear. They just deal with it.
Third, The events' prizes are completely biased.
The man constantly gives out top ranks like God and Overlord for months because they were able to stand on a bridge for slightly longer than anyone else or make a simple parkour jump.
Now, you probably don't see this as a huge problem, the money goes to Zak, it's his decision to lose the money that could've been saved if he gave a slightly worse prize.
Here's the thing that not only was that money supposed to go into the server's fundings and in order to pay the management and Neon, but this is also quite unfair to those who have paid fairly for their ranks to see some random guy get it because he was standing on a bridge.

Attention
Between youth and teenage years, it's quite frequently noticeable that people seek attention, usually from a person with higher powers than those people, as for example how 90% of the invadedlands community goes nuts when there's a moderator or higher online.
Unfortunately, this need cannot be supplied to those people, due to them being ignored by some moderators and above.
Heck there are some moderators and even admins who would go AFK for hours because they haven't noticed they didn't leave, holding many players spamming the chat just to get support from the same moderator who didn't care to check whether his PC is turned on or not.
Some moderators who usually ignore the chat, commonly respond with "I'm busy with other problems at the moment, I'm just one guy I cannot do everything by myself!" well here's the thing that some servers' staff members do.
Take servers like Hypixel, Even helpers have to constantly moderate in game and on the forums at once yet they're doing a fantastic job at it. Or even servers like ManaCube, where some staff members are sometimes left to handle a server filled with hundreds of players yet they still do a fantastic job at it.
I just don't see why InvadedLands can't.

The reason why players join
If we went on servers like Hypixel and asked "why do you join hypixel" you'll be able to see responses like "to play ___", "to hang out with my friends", "grind", etc.
Then there's InvadedLands, where the reason why 90% of people join is due to wanting to 'fanboy' or get recognized by Skeppy and Zelkam, causing them to sit in spawn and chat constantly flooding and spamming just so their favorite youtuber notices them and 'trolls' them.
People are literally standing for days now in "armies" just so Skeppy notices them.
But what's the difference? Why do people join Hypixel to play and have fun when people join Invaded in order to fanboy youtubers?
It's quite simple.
The management on hypixel is active, and constantly reviewing suggestions and listens to community feedback in order to know how they can make their server even better.
Unlike InvadedLands, where there's a lack of forum activity between management, feedback and suggestions are frequently ignored and whey do, they're usually made fun of and are publicly shamed because they don't agree with the suggestion or feedback.

If I'm being honest the "InvadedLands Council" seems like a total joke, and really doesn't do anything, nor does it have a lot of power.
Not to mention all of their decisions are based off 3-4 players' feedback, and are not even being published for opinions between the whole community making our gameplay reliant on some quite toxic members of the community and some randoms.

The way things are handled
Just like I mentioned earlier, members of the forums are quite frequently made fun of by the management and staff team due to their suggestions, feedback, appeals, applications, reports, etc.
Heck there's a full series by Zelkam just to shame people who applied for staff or appealed their ban, which is sickening me that the younger audience that made these appeals / applications are made fun of because they aren't currently able to make standing out appeals/apps due to their "brain not being yet fully developed".
Not to mention, a few months ago a former staff member was banned from the discord server by MegaPVP because he was giving criticism about the server with the message "how about you make another thread about it?"

This is basically the end.
If anyone wants to give feedback on this thread, please make sure it's respectful towards both me and the staff team themselves.
Every Point is Actually Good and Correct

he doesn't give a shit. he lives in LA and lives his "dream" to be a full-time youtuber. Might aswell just swear at him a bunch at the end of the tourney for doing that. Also the fact the managemant doesn't care about that just shows that the server is a joke. How the **** are you gonna let the owner basically **** up the whole server like that.

I just don't see why InvadedLands can't.
It's cause of IL's stupidly high staff requirements. Look, I meet every requirement except the past staff experience. And for that reason alone I can't apply for staff.

Yes it is true, however some do it on purpose and everytime Zelk says "don't be dumb", they will obv ignore it. However, the "standing out" part isn't true. If your application doesn't have awful spelling mistakes, lies, or just outright showing that they didn't read any of the "read here first" then most likely they won't be on his video. And in the ban appeals the main thing is the lies that they say. Ban appeals aren't ment to have the highest quality standard, but to be concise and to help you get unbanned if the ban was unfair. But then again, it seems that they "take pride in their anticheat" (nice job neon skidding from the anticheat dewgs gave to the server) and force people to falsely admit.
I honestly think that the way people are sent to the event server is complete bull.
As you know the server sends people from right to left, meaning that people who DIDN'T purchase a rank has a chance to get inside.
BUT the people who BOUGHT ranks can never get inside, MOST ESPECIALLY the HIGHER RANKS.
actually that's wrong. When you join a server from the compass or the NPC (or the /joinserver /joinqueue commands), you're put in a queue that will send you when you're the 1st one in it and there's a free slot on the server. However, the queue works on the backend spigot server rather than the bungee (which handles all the multi-server stuff). The /send all event command selects all the players on the server, and because of the server limit (100 players), 98 "lucky" players get in and are forcibly disconnected from any server they were on. The rest of 200 or so are greeted with a "Kicked while connecting to server event: The server is full!" chat message and they remain on the server they were on before. This wouldn't be a problem, but the combat logger will kill every player that got sent from kitpvp to the event server.

I agree with most of this. I'll also add that I see a lot of people on the forums that have been falsely banned for weeks, and staff are 'too busy'.
I think him giving ranks is alright though. we have our ranks permanently, whereas they would have their rank for a month. It also makes events more competitive, although, as you mentioned, most of skeppys events are almost luck.

I agree, and especially with the "Skeppy Army".
All they do is take up player slots on the server and just stand there, so much people are trying to get in and have a good time but these people are standing here doing nothing with their lives, spamming "f" "14" "i trapped 100 kids in a ___" and making the server lag.
They could AT LEAST play the server instead of just standing at the spawn jumping.

it’d be so much better to just announce on all servers to do /joinserver event rather than send literally everyone. I am usually not doing anything or I’m just not sent lmao but I’d really hate it if i was in the middle of something and got sent to the event. this was fun to read lol

Basically what you're saying is no more videos filmed on the server? You do realize that Skeppy is popular on Youtube and can't help little stans coming on and expecting Skeppy to pop out. Yes, I get some things he does is wrong like not warning us before /sendall, etc. But the player base is mainly from him and if he cuts off the content coming from the server I'm pretty sure there would be less people playing. There is just some stuff that he has to do to keep up the popularity of him and the server. There just should be some rules set when Skeppy/Zelkam does film. But it is Skeppy's server he can do anything he wants.

As much as I love Skeppy's videos I do agree. This happened to me a while ago when he made his quest for new staff or whatever video where I was in kit and then Skeppy just tped me into some bedrock thing and Mega killed me :( and also the skeppy fanboy thing is one of the reasons why I don't play Invaded nearly as much as servers like Hypixel it's just annoying,

Due to this not being related at all to this thread, I'll message you later on discord if I'd like to continue this discussion.

If I'm being honest the "InvadedLands Council" seems like a total joke, and really doesn't do anything, nor does it have a lot of power.

I’m open for any constructive feedbacks in the council. I am making changes to tickets handling system. What do you suggest instead of calling it a joke?

I do agree that players loosing there stuff isn’t right but again it’s his server. If you don’t like it or have a problem, i suggest you try to find another server :)

What about the people who spent 100's of dollars on the game before, not knowing that the "armies" were going to happen and lag their game or skeppy sending them to an event whilst they are fighting and have 'god gear' on.

exactly, and not everyone came here from skeppy (i personally did but know people that didn’t) they just like the server itself. this getting sent to events randomly thing just started happening the past like what 2 months so if you’ve been playing for a while and earned good gear etc then randomly get sent to an event not knowing anything about it you’d be pretty mad.

Wow.
Absolutely Amazing.
Incredibly Ingenious
Absurdly Accurate
I agree with just about EVERYTHING that you put in this post.

Dude i 100% have to agree with you, Voltwave lost so much, He refuses to respond to my thread, Any of the higherups don't respond. Only Apex he said he would bring it up.

The thing is, Its laziness. Skeppy ruins the game and doesn't really "moderate" he just lets Zelkam, Mega, Neon. Do the development. He only moderates when he's trolling. I hate the fact of the fanboys that join, Its annoying when Im trying to stream, or play the server like a normal human f*cking being, that I see "BADBOYHALO IS A POTATO" "TEAMSKEPPY" "14" SKEPPY OMFG DUEL ME DUEL DUEL ME" "SKEPPY IS BAD"

Its so annoying seeing them spam. Quite literally it ruins the aspect of the game, when im trying to read messages.

I also agree with the skeppy gives people ranks for doing nothing. Im an overlord and a god damn comet for gods sakes. I have the highest rank on the two of the most popular servers, I literally am still owed money which im looking for in vouchers? Not the original promised reward. He gives away OVER $200+ because someone lasted a second longer? like wtf?

Thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
