Misconceptions you had when you first started Minecraft/Invaded

What were some misconceptions or mistakes you had when you first started playing Minecraft and/or InvadedLands?

My dumbest was when I first got the game, I thought mobs and mods were the same thing, and when my friend talked about how he downloaded a mod, I told him that he could have just gone and found one, and he didn’t have to download it...

when i first started skyblock, i asked in chat if afk mining was allowed, chat said no. i then asked if using something to hold down your mouse instead of a program on your computer counted as afk mining, chat said yes. i then proceeded to weigh down my mouse and watch yt (still looking at my screen, so technically not afk mining.) man i was a dumb kid

I thought mobs were other players in your singleplayer world working for Minecraft.

On InvadedLands, I took the rule about bow boosting to spawn out of context and thought bow boosting would get you banned. Also I thought you could break trees at spawn in KitPvP and Survival.

when i read the allowed mods and clients list, i thought mods were referring to stuff that is allowed, and clients referring to things that weren't allowed

I thought "Mobs" was the actual mafia, and I was always wondering when a man in a black fedora would jump me with a gun LMFAO

spent around 40 minutes trying to make flint in steel in survival mode, in my creative world, because i couldnt find it in the creative inventory and though u had to make it.

tried to use java edition mods, without installing the mods, on xbox one edition

didnt know water could be removed, deleted many worlds because i thought i ruined them

thought enchanting arrows with sharpness would make them better (on xbox one edition u could enchant items that usually arent able to be enchanted)

thought that brown sheep were mongooses (i think my sister told me they were)

thought changing perspective (f5 on java) was a bug cause i couldnt figure out how to toggle it and thought it just happened randomly (it happened when i unknowingly pushed the joystick down)

When I saw people bow boosting I thought they were fly hacking

I used to jump down naked and find any armor I could on the ground and i was always like "HOW DO PPL HAVE THIS MUCH ARMOR WTF"

I don't remember anything from when I first started Minecraft because that was years ago BUT Invaded was the first actual server I ever played (I used to only do single player worlds) so I had zero idea how anything worked, what I was meant to do, etc. and for a good while, I didn't know there were kits so I would jump down under spawn and try to find as much armour and stuff as I could to fight but always died before I could. It made me quit the server for like 4 months until a friend of mine played Invaded and taught me how it worked......

o also another one was about how items would just appear at spawn, i didn't know spawn invis was a thing, so i assumed it was some random staff giving me gear while in vanish

my first player report for invaded was a picture of my macbook when some kid just said “i am hacking” ... also when i first started mc again i was on a dif server and asked how to get to wild and someone said ./rtp so i typed ./rtp in chat instead of just /rtp

After I started watching Skeppy trolling on Invaded, I was attached to the EssentialsX plugin but i didnt know how to get it so i spent an hour trying to get /gmc in my singleplayer world

Minecraft misconception: when I was first trying out survival mode, my friend told me that jumping in lava wouldn’t do anything and I ended up burning hours of work I had just done (this was on pocket edition)

Invaded misconception: I thought that I could curse and ended up getting slapped with a 1 hour mute (this was on my brother’s account hehe)
