Relog your minecraft launcher, if u still have the old launcher u gotta update your application take care

make sure you were logged into the correct account on minecraft.net,
make sure you pressed apply,
and if you were on a server, you will have to relog for the skin to update,
if you did all these and it still doesn't work, you could try log out and back into your Minecraft account
