You know how the UHC gamemode has not been open in a LONG time, right? all of a sudden now it's up and working (i've caught it being up a few times now) and i just wanted to ask as of what's up with it, are there any events happening or is it something just to distract the players that desperately want to get in a video?

i assume it’s partially to help get players to stop flooding the hubs and actually do stuff. it also gives people more things to do on the server and keeps them from being bored.
 
TehNeon's been hosting UHC events lately, not for videos or anything, just because he's a good dev.
He unwhitelists it when he wants to host it, and in this instance you caught it while it was unwhitelisted and being hosted.

well but if i join it now, will i be able to play the uhc too or is it already like going on? i am confused about that

It has most likely already started. You can try and join and see what happens!

If it has already started, then you will most likely be a spectator. He will most likely host another one soon though

i'd love to but i don't wanna lose my spot in the queue tho, it's not like i'm absolutely keen on these events, but i mean, it'd be nice to see for myself how the events go, instead of watching a video or hearing it from other players

Yeah, that is totally understandable. Neon usually puts an alert out on the servers when there is a UHC event happening so keep your eye out for one of them!

Interesting, I've never seen any alerts while I've been online! I'll keep an eye out!
