I disagree, bought ranks have a cooldown, so after so many times they will be on the same level as you again.
Pay to win is annoying, but like @Nicbo said before, most players use sharpness 3 and prot 1 armor, just keep killing and saving to eventually buy those items.
I also saw another post on here where they wanted to add a small void part to the map. If you can combo them into the void, the game is less pay to win and more skill, so who knows? A small void in the map could help the pay to win issue.

every kit from mvp - overlord has punch 2s, meaning it would be so easy to knock people in if you had paid, making it even more pay to win. also it isnt skill to bowspam with a punch 2 anyway
Well us ranks only get to choose a good kit every 24 hrs. and the normal kits have the normal cooldown so it isnt really pay to win, you could easily get the kit by killing someone with it
I feel like the server is pay to win but the daily/elite kit balance it to the point where you stand a chance against ranked people if you are good enough so its not that big of a problem

no, but if the hole was small enough, it would be hard for a punch 2 to hit you in. Most people complaining about pay to win are just blaming their gear for their lack of skill. I can take down diamonds in iron easily.
what would be the point in a 2x2 hole? it would just look weird on the map. would be just as hard to combo someone into it anyway, when they are actively trying to avoid it

not 2x2, but I was thinking of an organic shape fit into some nooks and crannies, but I guess they would be able to punch you into it either way.
Yes, but ranked kits have cooldowns, it isn't like we can just spam kit overlord as many times as we would like, we have to wait 5 days. With /vote you can win kit lord from it which is p3 and gives gaps and pots, which allows you to have an equal chance to win the fight. So while yes if you pay for a rank you have a greater chance at killing someone. There are vote keys and even the shop where you can buy diamond armor and enchantments which will allow you to have a lasting pvp battle.
Referring to @NameAidan, the higher the rank, the bigger cooldown you are given for kits, people also have different play styles.
I can't really pinpoint a certain way to play, it's all preference, but saving your items can certainly impact your chances for beating certain people. some examples could be saving golden apples, armor, money, etc.. the list goes on.
