Potatoes are refusing to grow.

Potatoes are refusing to grow.

It's underground, has light and water, is below y level 50. Is there anything I ned to fix? Air conditioning????/
 
you need to plant it on dirt that is at maximum 4 block away from water. also you need to make the block able to have plants on it by using a hoe. then you need sun light. directly on it and also dont use shaders.. it mess up the light for you. + next time go to community help not make a thread in survival about it
 
u gotta make sure to sing the potato song to the potatoes or they might get sad and not grow
 
Guys, they're refusing to stay in the ground, they have hoed dirt, I sang the potato song to them (Gods, that was embarrasing even with nobody around), they have light, they have water, but they're under y level 50, is there something wrong with the y cordinates?

Run some experiments, compare them to potatoes with different conditions
 
I just tried it again and for some reason carrots grow under y level 50 but not potatoes??? Anyyways I just switched teh farms
