If you play survival for more than a day then you'll see that the new players always ask the same questions over and over again. I'm happy to help people if I feel like it but it gets real annoying and I find myself ignoring them a bit more than I used to. So I'm going to make a QA type post here where I state the most commonly asked questions and then answer them. This is so I can respond to the people asking these questions by just giving them the link to this thread. This thread will be useless to anyone that knows how to play survival.

How do I go to kit/ how do I get back to hub:
Do /hub. Sometimes it's just that simple.

How do I start/ I can't mine any blocks:
You're still in the spawn area. To get out of the spawn area you can use two commands /wild or /rtp. This will teleport you to a random area in the actual survival world where you can build.

I lost my starter kit how can I get it back:
You can get kits by doing the /kit command. It'll tell you which kit is available. To get the starter pack you can do /kit default.

I don't have any food/there are no mobs/ where can I find mobs:
Mobs don't spawn in survival on this server. You'll only find a rare friendly mob here and there. This is to prevent much lag I assume. If you need food then you can do /kit default to get 16 cooked steak. You can also buy stuff in /shop. Food is pretty expensive at first so I'd suggest buying a potato/carrot and making a farm like you do in survival. To get mobs you can buy spawners and spawn eggs in /shop as well. These are the most expensive items in the shop and I'll tell you why in the question "How do I get money".

How does claiming work/ How do I make towns.
Originally I was going to make my own video of this but none of you are worth hearing my voice so I'll just link an already existing youtube vid that does it pretty well.
The very basics:
The more advanced functionality:

If you don't want to watch the vids I'll quickly list the commands and a brief description but don't bother me when you don't get how to claim with the golden shovel if you haven't watched the vid.

/claim - when holding a golden shovel this will create claim of a 100 blocks, 10 wide and 10 long.
/extendclaim (number of blocks) - This will extend the claim you're standing in, the number of blocks you put in in the direction you're looking at. note : if you look up or down while doing this command the claim will not be extended since claims are vertically infinite.
/unclaim - this command will unclaim the area you're standing in. This doesn't work if you're outside of your claim.
/abandonallclaims - this unclaims all the claims you have.
/claimlist - shows you all of the coordinates of your claims and it also shows how much claim blocks (cb) you have.

/trust (player) - this will give the player build permissions in the claim you're standing in. If you stand outside of your claims while performing this command the player will have build permissions in all your claims.
/untrust (player) - this will revoke all the trust permissions that player has in that claim. Standing outside revokes them from all your claims.
/accesstrust (player) - This gives player access to levers and buttons, but doesn't give them build permission or access to chests.
/containertrust (player) - This gives players access to chests but not to buttons and building.
/permissiontrust (player) - This gives players the ability to use the /trust command for other people in that claim.
/trustlist - this shows all the players that have certain permissions in that claim.

/subdivideclaims - this puts you in a different claiming mode that allows you to divide your current claim in smaller claims. This allows stuff like towns and events where people need certain permissions but not in the whole claim. I'd suggest watching the advanced video I linked.

I lost my claim tools / How do I get the claim shovel back.
It's important to realize that the claim tool is just a golden shovel. Any golden shovel will work. But if you really want it to be named "claiming shovel" with the colored name you can get one by doing /kit default.

How do I get more claim blocks.
I've looked at the source code of the claim plug in so I can give you really specific answers (yay me).
You get claim blocks while you're playing on the server. You can stand still and be afk for hours and you'll gather more claim blocks.
You get around 60-100 claim blocks every hour on the server. You can also get 100 claim blocks daily by doing /vote and voting for the server.

Now this is what I learned from looking at the code:
- you don't get claim blocks while in any type of liquid (water, lava). So don't make an afk pool. It's not even necessary anyway look at "Can I afk (yes)/ Why do I always get kicked when afk'ing overnight".
- you don't get claim blocks while in a vehicle (boat, horse).

You used to be able to trade claim blocks with /trade but people were able to dupe cb with this so at the moment that functionality has been disabled. The developer of the server might still be working on patching the exploit but we don't know.

HOW DO I GET BACK TO MY CLAIM:
Ah yes the favorite question asked by new players. If you find yourself asking this in chat I assume you haven't set a home there.

If you have done /sethome in your claim then you can do /home to tp back to that spot.
But I'm guessing you haven't done that.

First try /back and you might be lucky. /back will tp you to the last place you were. But this is kinda finnicky and not always accurate. So this won't work guaranteed.
If /back doesn't work then you're out of luck kid and you'll have to walk.
You can find the coordinates of your claim by doing /claimlist. When you know the coords keep doing /rtp or /wild till you're about 3000 blocks away and then start walking. You might get lucky and be tpd closer than 3k blocks away but this distance is good enough to get there decently quick.

If you haven't claimed your area and /back doesn't work then you're dead out of luck and there is no way of getting back to that spot without random chance. Better just start anew.

How can I stop people that have trust in the same claims from accessing my chests/ why do I need to lock chests:
If you work together with some people it's likely that they can access the same chests as you in those claims. If you want no one but you to be able to access a specific chest you can right click on that chest with a sign. This will automatically lock that chest for you (you'll see your name appear on the sign). No one else will be able to access or destroy that chest even if they have trust.
If you do want to allow more people to access that chest then you can right click the sign with your bare hand. It will state "Sign selected" in chat. Then you use the /lock command.

/lock (line number) (playername) - The line number corresponds to the line number of the sign. So you can choose 1-4. Most likely you want to use 3-4 since 1 and 2 are automatically used.
for example : /lock 3 akat would put akat on line 3 on the sign and give akat access to that chests.

How do I stop people from opening my doors:
You can lock the doors the same way you can lock chests. Just place a sign on them with right click and it'll automatically lock.

Can I afk (yes) / why do I always get kicked when afk'ing overnight:
The server allows you to afk, so If you want to afk just stand still. There is no need for afk machines. In fact afk machines are bad (you don't get any cb in water). Piston afk machines might even get you banned by the anti cheat system.

If you do get kicked when afk'ing then there could be two reasons:
- All of the different servers (survival, kit, sky) restart at a specific time during the day (7 am for me). So if you're afk during that time you'll get warped to hub.
- If your internet connection isn't the best you might get timed out. If you time out then you'll be warped back to hub. This happens when your internet connection has lapses meaning that it mostly works but sometimes disconnect for a small amount of time.

HOW DO I GET MONEY:
You can sell stuff at /shop using the gui that pops up or using commands. The commands are more efficient
/sell hand - sells the stuff in your hand. You can also use /sell h
/sell all - sells everything sellable in your inventory. You can also use /sell a
Not everything is sellable. You can look through /shop to see what can be sold and what not. If you're daring and bold you can also just try the commands out and see.

If you want to sell something that isn't able to be sold at shop you can sell it in the auction with /ah sell (price) (amount). This will put the item you're holding up for auction in /ah. You can only put a limited amount of items on auction and you can put it on auction for max 1 million. So if you have a truly valuable item like a creeper head you'll have to /trade with people to get more than 1 million for it.

/ah sell (price) (amount) - will sell the item you're holding in your hand for the price you specified (max 1 million) and the amount. If you have unstackable items the amount doesn't work, for example if you have 2 iron shovels and you put one in your hand and put 2 as the amount only one will be put up on auction.

People sometimes host their own event for a good prize. Join these events and win.

HOW DO I GET RICH:
This is where spawners come into play. You can buy spawners from /shop. These cost a lot initially. But they'll keep spawning mobs. If you kill these mobs and sell them loot you get mucho money. (use a looting III and s5 sword, put fire aspect on it if you're grinding cows).

Cow spawners give the most money.
Blaze give good money but also gives tons of xp.

How do I make a grinder with the spawner I bought:
Youtube is a thing ffs.

What does the x2 over my cows/mobs mean:
There is a plug in that stacks entities. The x(number) tells you how many entities are in that one entity. so if you see x2 over your cow then that means it's actually 2 cows. Max stack goes up to 15k. if you kill these mobs you'll get the amount of items that they represent. So if you kill an x2 cow then you'll get the loot drops from 2 cows. If you use a max sword you'll be able to kill 8-16ish mobs per click.

How do I stack spawners:
You can stack spawners by placing the same kind of spawner within 4 blocks of each other. You'll get a notification in chat of how many spawners are stacked when you do it. You can stack upto 64 spawners in one spawner. If you mine this spawner you'll get it back and the stack size will decrease. If you mine it while crouching you'll remove the whole stack and get all the spawners in that stack. Refer to "how do I mine spawners/Can I mine spawners".

how do I mine spawners
/Can I mine spawners:
You can only mine spawners if you have a rank (any rank will suffice) and a silk touch pick. If you miss any of these requirements the spawner will just break and you will be big sad. If you don't have a rank but need to mine a spawner ask a trusted ranked player, they might be willing to help you out.

Can you have multiple /sethome:
Ranked players get multiple sethomes. The higher the rank the higher the amount of homes.
/sethome (name) - Each home needs to have a unique name.

How do I get a rank:
You can buy a rank with real life money. You can buy it at /store.

I got scammed staff help me/ why isn't the person that scammed getting banned:
Scamming in game items is allowed and not bannable. Avoid getting scammed by doing /trade. Spamming chat about it will not do anything and you'll never get the items back from staff. There are no refunds of ingame items cause it's not against the rules. Some altruistic people might give you some stuff but please don't beg.

Why isn't the person that trapped me getting banned:
Tp trapping is allowed. Reporting him will do nothing but waste everyone's time. Even yours.

This kid keeps spamming/ how do I ignore people/ how do I stop people from messaging me/ I'm really annoyed and just want to not talk to anyone:
If someone is annoying you with messages you can do /ignore (player). This will make any message of theirs not visible.
If someone keeps paying you small amounts of money and is thus spamming you that way you can toggle payments of by /paytoggle.
If you're really fed up with chat you can do /tgc. This will turn off global chat (toggle global chat). You'll only be able to see messages and party chat and server ntifications from then on.

How do I report someone/ Someone griefed around my claim what do I do/ I saw someone spam...:
The /report function only notifies the staff that are currently online. Which means that if you spam /report for something that isn't punishable (tpa trapping, scamming, ...) you're wasting staffs time. So only use /report for punishable reasons. (read the rules: https://invadedlands.net/threads/network-rules.48/).

If you have video evidence or a full screenshot (partial screenshots don't get taken as evidence) but the person that did the punishable thing isn't offline or doing it anymore you can still report them through the reports section in the forums (https://invadedlands.net/forums/player-reports.18/). On the report you fill in the questions and upload your evidence to youtube/imgur or with the add picture method.

This is the most useful forum post, not gonna lie. Maybe edit is and say you can do /sell a instead of /sell all. This is amazing. Sadly most new players don’t go through the forums immediately...

Hey, I’m wondering if the usage of alts are allowed under certain circumstances.

I've checked the rules and it everything with regards to alt accounts are:

No using any alt accounts to get daily items/blocks/gear/currency/voting for you or any other account to use.

From my understanding, this rule prevents users from generating free stuff for the main account, providing an unfair advantage against other users.

Then would it be acceptable to load up two minecraft clients, one used to afk at your farm and play on the other (acting as a chunk loader)?

If this in fact complies with the regulations—there’s no rule stating otherwise (apart from the possibly of a minuscule amount of unfair advantage), suppose you used your alt at a grinder farm and kill the mobs on that account, would it be susceptible to allow the alt to transfer the money and xp earned to your main?

Im not actually that new and know most of the things listed but some of those things really helped so much. I really appreciate you making this. Just thank you not just from me but everybody this would help anyone needing a boost and someone having a lot of questions. Just thank you.
