I've been thinking, has anyone ever won a rank from a crate? I've never won or seen anyone win a rank from a crate so I don't know if it's possible to win one.

Haven't seen anyone win a rank but my friend won a gaming mouse from one of the old crates in 2018, also someone won a gaming pc from it too. very rare, probably a super small chance of getting it.
