If you want my honest opinion, here you go.
The only thing that matches your skin is the color. The fade pattern involves tons of small pixels forming a fade illusion, which greatly contradicts your 8bit skin design. I think you should remove the fade, instead focusing on two primary colors (blue and black) and creating more of a cape-like banner. I think the black frame is perfect; fits your skin design, but like I said the fade just doesn't work for me.
I do like the cape design, don't get me wrong, but from an artistic standpoint it could use some work.
