Hi, My name is Brad otherwise known as GayToad.
I have made this post today to address a serious issue plaguing Invaded Lands. This issue has to do with the chat filter system within Kit PvP, Skyblock, and Survival. The word "Gay" is blacklisted as many of you know and in this post, I will explain why it shouldn't. Despite common belief "Gay" is not a word of hate, rather it is the foundation of years and years of history within the LGBTQ+ community. The term Gay should be perceived as a word of happiness and free will. However, I know me saying this does not mean that the Invaded community will have the same opinion. If a person has hate within their heart they will find a way to "plague" the invaded community whether or not the chat filter prohibits it. Furthermore, the chat filter is sexist. take the word "Lesbian" for example. This word has the same background and impact as the word Gay yet it's still allowed by the chat filter. Lastly, it affects the ability to come in contact with the same in chat. Say for instance another player wanted to contact me through the Minecraft chat, they can not do this because of the "Gay" in my name. This is extremely annoying especially to the people just trying to address me.
Now I know that staff cant just up and change the rules whenever they please, as well as the whitelisting of the word "Gay" would lead to countless more problems than it solved.
What I am asking for is to be an exception to this rule. I know the weight that the word carries, and will use it with responsibility.
