Okay, so there's been a LOT of beef about completely bashing the server and it's staff yesterday. I wanted to at least try to clear up some things and some air. I joined the server in December, I'm still quite remotely new, but I've noticed a lot during these four months while playing on the server and being a part of the community (well, at least trying to be a part of the community by communicating on the forums and in chat).
I'm not trying to hurt anyone, I'm just trying to tell you what it looks like from eyes of a still remotely new player.
This server has a lot of good things in it. Yes, it does.
The community itself is amazing, looking at the players who have been here a lot longer than I obviously have. The community is open for new players to join them, they're friendly (if newbies are not annoying the crap out of them, of course). When I joined I was afraid to talk to anyone, not gonna lie, but as I started to get closer to all the people ingame, I love it!
Staff work their ass off. They do. Even if it seems like they don't. They do so much work for the community, trying to make it better, not toxic, take Acruse as an example, he's muted, literally for being toxic in chats. I notice the stuff going on. Staff ban people daily for cheating, even if we don't see it, they're silent bans.
Also staff are friendly. Yes, they punish people for cheating or being toxic, but they're people too. They aren't trying to be mean, they're doing their job. I can only speak on behalf of Lauren and Wqlk, since they're the only staff I've met ingame/chatted with at the moment, but I assure you, staff are not people you should be afraid of, if you're not cheating, of course. They're people that try to make this place better as much as they possibly can. But their possibilities AREN'T LIMITLESS, there's only so much they can do unfortunately..
The server also has some not so good things about it. Again, I'm not trying to bash anyone, but here's what I've noticed.
Community-wise, there are A LOT of completely baffled newgen players, that wet themselves when they see a staff member... "omg omg omg tp me pls" / "hahaha im hacking look at me" / "gimme free stuff ilysm plsss" / "wheres skeppy" / "141414141414" , I don't find this quirky or funny. That's just plain annoying.
Staff-wise, there is not enough Devs and Managers.
The daily player count on the server is around 2000 players every day (looking at the votes per day on minecraftservers,org). Poor Neon has to fix everything alone - bugs, glitches, major things, small things - I don't care, in my opinion, it's completely unfair for him to do it alone (keep in mind that he has his own server to also take care of). Bug and glitch reports come in EVERY day, probably even every hour. Neon alone is not enough for a server this big. They should hire a few more Devs who will take care of the small bugs and issues, so Neon could concentrate on the major bugs and glitches.
Speaking of Managers, there are two of them - Mega and Zelk. Every day they have to look through appeals, bans, mutes, blacklists. Do you know how many people get banned, blacklisted and muted in a day? - A lot. All of them sending in their appeals might be like three to five/six (maybe, I'm only assuming) pages a day, there's twenty appeals in a single page. That's a lot for only two people who have their own life as well, outside of this server and the forums. I know it's annoying to have your appeal not answered quickly enough, but there's only so much two people can do..
I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but this is what I see from my own perspective, I'm only expressing my own opinion.
