Things like this are rare on survival but I understand the frustration. Unfortunately in cases like this nothing was claimed and therefore there is nothing that can be done as per the rules.
I'd always recommend claiming everything you work on to prevent things like this happening, that way if someone attempts to claim around your land or damage the integrity of the area you can report them. If you're running low on claim blocks additional ones can be purchased on the store and you also receive them when voting for the server.
