Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, I'd ask you create no further threads about this. Please see below for an explanation - thank you.

Hello everyone,

I didn't want to outright delete this thread without explaining why I have done so. This sort of thing is very serious and we aim to take quick and decisive action to protect the community. When posts are made about suicide, self-harm, etcetera and we believe that they are credible and urgent in nature we need to do one of two things.

  • Where the vulnerable person themselves has made a post concerning suicide or self-harm, we remove it from the forum and get a member of our moderation team that has been trained to deal with these issues to contact them privately and refer them to expert listening and advice services.
  • Where posts concerning others' intentions or other closely-related topics are made, we tend to remove them and contact the poster explaining why, linking to the advice services previously mentioned.

We do both of these things not as an act of censorship, but to ensure the safety of our community. The fact is, some people here might say unhelpful or harmful things and furthermore, this forum really isn't the best place to discuss such sensitive topics. We need to ensure that professional help is sought by those that are vulnerable so that they receive the best possible advice.
