Hi all I just wanted to post this here on the forums to let you guys know in case you aren't in the discord or don't check it often.

From this point on we will be punishing for TP trapping. It has been allowed up until this point, so any reports with evidence made before today will be denied.
If you have any questions about this change, feel free to leave them in this thread.

Unrelated, but as of now, do not build in claims outside of the old vertical coordinate range (0-256). The claim protection will not work and people will be able to access your thing and break your claim in the extreme region.

yay although kinda sad, I don’t see tp trapping as “making the game unplayable” and I feel like the server is becoming too soft there needs to be a little drama to make it interesting
it doesn't make it unplayable. These are 2 different things in this announcement. This change is to be consistent with our skyblock rules in regards to island killing.

A lot of people who are falling for tp traps are new players, imagine you're a regular player that doesn't even realize theres money in the game/you have very, very little of it, and you spend all this time grinding away. You finally have diamond armor and tools, then some jerk tp traps you and resets most or all of your progress. I would be pretty annoyed, and I could see why this would drive players away.

I have a question about the new rule:

What's the big difference between "normal" traps and TP Traps for this ruleset? Both technically fall under a sort of "unfairness" category. It might sound obvious, but there are some non-specific situations that'll probably come about at some point.

Let's say I were to build a trap *near* where I teleport someone. Would I be justified in landing them on that safe ground, and *then* luring them into the trap? I'm worried about on-the-line scenarios where someone may be teleported very close to a trap, maybe only a block away, but will die upon stepping forward or committing to similar, non-egregious actions. It kind of falls into a "personal definition" category that I don't like.

I think having more clarification for the new rule such as "may only have trap within [x] radius of teleport" would flesh this out. Some form of "approved definition of TP-Trapping" so that it's not up to interpretation depending on the person/mod whether a trap *near* teleport is considered tp trapping, and what that radius would actually look like.

I believe a tp trap is a trap someone gets teleported directly into

updated thread to include this. spread info if u can

will the claim bug be fixed eventually? I have some beacons down there that I’m not particularly concerned about but would be nice to have some security in the future

Don’t know, probably not soon. I would keep any valuables/builds outside of these areas. If the bug is fixed it will be announced
