What do you hate the most about school?

this one wasn’t on the list but I’ll add it anyways :^)
d r a m a
every other week it’s “I broke up with []” or “me and [] aren’t friends anymore because []”
which can be pretty tiring for me since I’m the girl who gets sucked into it all and listens to hours of it ;-;
Omfg yes. Its so annoying when suddenly people involved are asking for your opinion. Like no just stop worrying about this petty shit and go do something else with your time

the school system is just horrible, it should be changed
In my opinion the school system isn't bad at all. The problem is the amount of freedom schools give to their students. And no, just because school isn't fun, doesn't mean it should be changed at all. School has 1 objective in mind, teach. If you don't enjoy school, then that's not their problem. School is made of learning, not for enjoyment. And no, we really can't have both learning and enjoyment at the same time.

Learning and enjoyment can't really coexist. Learning requires a lot of energy, hence it becomes very tiring. You probably don't enjoy being tired. And say you want to learn chemistry, the more you focus on learning and not enjoyment, the better it is. Enjoyment and learning is inversely proportional. If you make learning twice as fun, the efficiency halves and you'll have to spend more hours at school, or you can spend 12 years on secondary education. Let's say you have 1 chapter to memorise and it takes 36 000 000 J, you spend a lot of energy memorising it, and you become tired because of it, you won't have fun whatsoever if it's tiring, and now let's say you spread out the chapter over twice the time, you lose efficiency and it takes longer to memorise, but now because it isn't tiring, you're having more fun, but you also lose a lot of efficiency. This is just the enjoyment within the education system. I know that this isn't everything, but most of other problems come from teachers themselves and not the education system. For instance, interactive lessons are usually more fun (and efficient! )than just listening to a teacher ramble on for 2 hours, but this has nothing to do with the system, rather it has to do with a teachers learning style and willingness to not make their lessons interactive. The education system works perfectly for me, but that might be because of my 4.0 GPA. Appreciate the system you have right now, right now (this is an assumption) you are free at about 3-4pm, a lot better than having school until like 8pm or even 9 pm, now you can suffer at school and prosper for a lot more time at home playing videogames. And think about it, if learning could be way more fun without the efficiency going down, we'd have done it by now. In my school I have way too much freedom. So much so, I ruined my schedule just to prove a point. Our school made a new policy, where you can decide which lesson you want to follow for roughly 30% of your classes. So what I did was make sure all of the free choice hours were all math classes. This resulted in me having 40% of my schedule dedicated to math, which is roughly 10 WHOLE hours of math in 1 week. The reason you don't have much freedom in your school, is that students make irresponsible decisions which end up harming them in the long run.

I do have a way to make school more fun for yourself is to work at home and finish a whole chapter in a day, this will give you a sense of accomplishment. This is called a false start where you're slightly ahead of your peers and makes a specific class much more fun because you actually know what the teacher is talking about. I did this for 3 classes this year, math (this got me into an accelerated math program), physics (also in an accelerated physics program) and chemistry. It really works for me and I strongly recommend you try it too.

The American school system at least is extremely outdated

It isn't outdated. I, as a European actually admire the amount of opportunity there is in terms of extracurriculars. The Netherlands barely has any opportunities for extracurriculars and honors. In America there is literally an advanced placement thing, which I wish the Netherlands had. Although there are quite a bit of downsides in the American system (Exams too easy, SAT is a complete joke, sometimes teachers do weird things). I really wish the Netherlands has as many opportunities as America.

Seeing and being a part of the American school system is completely different. I'm not saying it's horrible, but it's definitely not as good as you're making it out to be. There's a reason why so many American teachers are advocating for change, especially with standardized testing. Not sure if you've seen actual test scores, but nothing you said about American tests is true. A high percentage of students are struggling to pass their required exams right now, so much that the governor of my state has decided to completely remove them in the coming years

Exams aren’t that “easy”. You can take the SAT or the ACT, and you have weird teachers everywhere. I wouldn’t say that American schools are easier then Dutch schools.
