as a guy who's addicted to building, I can safely say spruce is the best and cleanest type of wood out there.
It has such a nice texture and looks so clean and nice and it's always fantastic when it comes to building structures or animals.
If I need to use wood, spruce is my first go go.
If you like any other type of wood I say no no.
(although birch is nice sometimes when it comes to animals or if you need to fill in a quartz structure)
