it has though lol. if your own message you typed gets filtered you won't know because it still shows up like a regular message in chat but other people won't be able to see it

It's been like this for a while, and also the filter is in place for a reason, and changing how it functions would be really weird and confusing for some people as most of them are already used to it. Bypassing the chat filter is also a punishable offense and it could confuse some people if the filter was removed/changed in a way so you can toggle it. Just don't use swear words in the chat as it's not a really nice thing to do.
