It's clear that certain type of spam is very prevalent in all of the servers. It can be the annoying "skeppy is on hub x omg" or the "WHO DOES IRL DEALS" spam or many others. What I don't get is why it hasn't been prevented or dealt with yet.
There should be an easy fix that reduces massive spam namely not allowing players to post the same message or a message "similar" to your previous message twice. This will not prevent spam entirely but will annoy the absolute shit out of spammers since they can't just do up and enter or ctrl + v and enter.
Combine this with an automatic mute that mutes you after x amount of similar messages in Yyseconds (players that are getting around the above method by completely rearranging their sentence or trying to use synonyms etc). The mute should gradually get longer and longer until it becomes permanent.
The two things above would take responsibility from staff away allowing them to support the players in other ways. Any appeal about mutes can then easily be explained by checking the logs. This shouldn't be very hard to program or they might even be a plug in that already does this stuff. So I don't get why it hasn't been thought of already / implemented.
You can probably even try to combine this with the rank system to give ranked players more bank for their buck (namely the system being less harsh on ranked players). <- this isn't necessary but might be cool tho.
Also don't come in and say this needs to be posted to player council. I want to know why this hasn't been implemented yet. I want to have good reasons against it. I don't want to see just denied or accepted.
