The biggest reason maybe players are queuing for skeppys events are because we are all stuck indoors with nothing to do

no this has been going on long before the pandemic.
Yeah but people aren’t getting forced to do it , it’s their decision. Plus it doesn’t waste time since you are probably doing something else on your computer . Most people that join event queues afk until the event starts
why shouldn't i take it this 'deep'? you may question my willingness to create a change.org petition on the matter but i figured you have to think big to get big
On this server you don’t really need to think that big on things like this unless it is something that can impact the server in a good way
ok but how do they know they're in the event? do they receive a notification? an email?
what if they lag out and they were positioned #01 in the queue?
if your computer isn't that great and you're only just able to run minecraft on it you cant multitask?
this is not like hypixel queues, their approach is more humane, if that's the right word. hypixel queues only last for about 15 minutes at most, these queues last for several hours!!!
Like I said earlier, it's their own decision to do what the want. Most of the time, people are just going AFK and doing other things while they wait. I've waited over 12 hours several times just to get into events and had no issues, as I minimized the game and continued on.
Hypixel is actively losing and taking in more players, while the event queue is not moving unless they're letting players in. These are two completely different queues and work very different from each other. Events have never been announced and probably never will be (very rarely they are), but that's how it's been the whole time.
i disagree, i think you guys are content because you haven't been affected by this and don't see how ludicrous these waiting times are, but for those players, particularly the international community, with varying timezones, who are affected, I'm sure they'd at least sympathise with what i'm trying to get at here.

Exactly, like if you notice in Skeppy's video, a few people get kicked because they are AFK because they are holding the spot for nothing. That's basically the point, only the active people can join it.
There is a problem to this though, not everyone wants to sit watching their monitors for hours just waiting for the broadcast message that you said they should add, most people that join the queues are afk
But they shouldn’t complain, he’s giving away $1,000 from his pockets. Also that’s what they do for UHC and 300-400 attends the UHC and they usually get in with no problem.
