this is a skyblock thread. if you played on skyblock and NOT KITPVP OR SURVIVAL, you would understand what this thread is about.

Also a tell tale is they put a banner with a sell sign something trivial like cobblestone or a stick and then something for free in front of you. What happens is you buy the stick or cobble becuase you are unknowlingly in its hitbox.
People on other servers say that too
But THIS IS THE ONLY MINECRAFT SERVER WHERE SCAMMING ISN'T BANNABLE
Just prevent scamming, I don't get scammed that often, but it should be banned. So should Insiding/Raiding. We are talking about other people's POVs not people who have never never been scammed's POVs.

So, I have been on this server for more than 2-3 years and I mainly was active on forum. I encountered countless thread about scammers or people crying about getting scammed. And none of these could ever be avoided. And here is why.
First,
You are responsible for trading or making deals with others.
in another word,
Trade or make deals at your own risk
Reason:
Why we cannot make scamming bannable is simple. There are not enough evidence most of the time. Scamming is very hard to detect, unlike hacked clients, there cannot be any auto-bans for scammers. What this means is that staffs has to take care of every scamming reports. But as again, scamming is very hard to proof. Have a screenshot? There are many applications much as photoshop is even fake out that someone is scamming you. At this point for no longer cannot make it bannable to scam. Otherwise, every people that were scammed will complain about it.
Another reason I realized is that what after banning the scammer? Do you get the item back? Do you get the item you were trading? Yes, it will become very complicated. Only banning the scammer will do no much for the server and the one who got scammed. It is also highly complex when dealing with scammers; whether the item was big enough to be banned or just to be warned?
All this make me very annoyed and little confused on where is the point to ban a scammer.
lastly, you can easily avoid scammers by;
- DON’T TRADE WITH OTHERS
- TRADE ONLY WITH WHOM YOU TRUST THE MOST
How could this thread be better:
This thread only complains and has no much details on how you want the server to fix it.
Don’t only say make scamming bannable, and instead, suggest an idea; like “can we have “/trade” for our better and efficient trading?” (if there is one, sorry, didn’t log on to IL recently)
This one suggestion can make the thread very useful and convenient.

Scamming to do with IRL money used to be bannable.
But trading crate keys are not considered IRL deals. They are in game item.
Using something like PayPal is probably what them mean.
I didn’t play on the server for half a year and the data may be inaccurate. If so, please quote me so that I can correct them.

I believe trading was removed for some reason. But I agree with this post, just making scamming bannable would be even more work for staff.
We are not pointing out we have been scammed several times
We are pointing out an allowed rule towards whomst have been scammed
Other staff on other skyblock servers have to deal with scamming too.
They gave themselves work by not banning scammers earlier.
It's kinda lazy to see that the mods aren't bothering with anything
Also, the harder the work, the more money staff get paid (if they even get paid, I mean, skeppy is rich IRL cuz of his YouTube profits)

this quite honestly sounds more like a thread that would be on survival but you made some good points with the "extra info" area
scamming irl money (making someone pay then not giving the ingame item) is still bannable (since its kinda a legal offence too), i believe. i think the original post was also talking about banner scams ("go through here, and close the door, then leave for 100k" then you click a sign and lose all your money)
/trade is tbh kinda hard to scam with, it got removed on surivial for duping, but its not really possible on skyblock
it seems like what they want to happen is that you ge the stuff you lost back and then the scammer gets banned, and as far as i know, mods and sr mods dont have those perms (the perms are most likely to take from someone's inventory or bank and give it back)
even so, this would be very hard to actually prove that someone got scammed and its not worth the effort to stop bc there are so many scammers out there.
for irl deals, the irl buyer always goes first, then you pay ingame. if they charge you back after buying, higher up staff can probably check IPs and realize they didnt buy it and dispute it for you
for ingame scams, if it sounds too good to be true, dont go. simple as that, but most of the time, if you get scammed once you learn from that and never get scammed again
