If you dont know how to setup a vinnila server then you can use "Apex Minecraft Hosting". It does cost 3 bucks a month so if you dont want that you can use Aternos. Hosting a server yourself (Like i did) would be a better option though. Plus hosting a vanilla server is easy.
 
if you're making a good server, then i suggest a vps from ovh. other people in the thread have already said this but you should just go with this. ovh is not cheap as it's one of the best in the market.

a good friend of mine uses pebble, and the server often has lag spikes as frequent as every 30m to an hour. Pebble isn't the best, but it's the best bang for your buck.

yeah its good to start out. if your server makes enough money you can move to a dedicated host like ovh

That usually happens to short of server memory or ram. Such as having too many plugins or skripts
 
Tbh im thinking about SkyNode it is a very cheap host and has one of the most fastest responsive server hosts.

if u want free, not many options, but ig aternos. if its a small server for a couple friends, choose a cheap vps. any works. if youre doing like a big server, use ovh dedicated servers
