Ok @Periys I would like to respectfully disagree. There is multiple staff that have said that they are okay with us doing this if it is actually getting out of hand. I don't do it all the time but obviously this thread was answered by you and there was no need for this thread to be open. Decay and Nicki have told many of us that they are okay with us tagging them, and there has been other staff that have had in their signature to tag them for locks.
This simply isn't having a conversation my friend. If they want to have one it can be taken elsewhere. This conversation is on this thread if you haven't noticed.
The kid also asks for his own thread to be locked, which at this point would be a justified reason to request a lock.

A: even if you did have this before you died, you still lost it, i understand its very annoying but just be more carefull next time
B: You couldve just Hotbar glitched it into your inventory and claimed to have lost it, this has been attempted many times with ranks. kits etc and has failed.
If you really had it before, then that really sucks, remember to check whats in your inventory before dropping down
Excluding the fact that the original poster wanted the thread to be locked (which would be the only valid reason at this point), there's nothing wrong with keeping the thread open. Just because a staff member answered it doesn't mean it has to be locked immediately. Sure, other staff members have done it, but it's not a requirement for every thread; there's always a possibility that new ideas can be discussed related or pertaining to the thread.
I never said it was required, I tag staff in threads that don’t get locked. Just because I thought it was worthy of a lock doesn’t mean the staff does, I ping them so they can check it.
Periys’ argument was weak in the area that people are trying to have conversations, but from the pictures linked that isn’t having conversation. There is other threads that can be used for those purposes and being able to message on someone’s profile is actually one way of doing that since you don’t actually get points for commenting on a profile. That is the way the forums were intended to be used and no one has had an actual issue with it other than Periys. Not to call him out and say he’s wrong, but this thread has no point in being open anymore. The kid had a question and it was answered. How are “new ideas” supposed to be created over a kid asking if he could get his chat reaction back because he died with it? If there’s nothing that can be done about it then nothing can be done about it. End of story, end of thread.
The forums have gotten to that point where threads HAVE to be managed even if they are in off-topic. People get out of hand with it and think “since it’s in off-topic, no one cares” and they start making threads about inappropriate stuff, post boosting 5 messages in a row, I mean the list goes on. I had done 3 reports yesterday over that kind of stuff, and if those threads weren’t locked including ones like these, that would be something that consistently happened.
Yet when Periys didn't lock (for whatever reason) you couldn't accept that and wanted to respond to him for what reason?
You linked pictures of people not having conversations, but you can also just report them if they were post posting. You left out the other screenshots of people actually replying things that were related to the thread, etc.
As for your part about "new ideas," there are some that can still be created.
Keep in mind that his guy most likely glitched the item out of a crate (meaning it's fake and will disappear the moment it's clicked on). With that in mind, there are still topics that can be discussed regarding glitching things out of crates (as it's been done before) on this thread. If he actually died with it, then people can discuss ideas regarding chat reactions (such as making them virtual, etc). Even on threads like these that don't seem to have much detail or content to it other than a simple answer, there are still new things that can be discussed on it. So no, not the end of the story.

I believe the only reason why this would even be able to be considered "out of hand" would be your backtalk to @Periys . Respectfully disagreeing is one thing, but you have a tendency to constantly argue with people over the simplest things as you cannot take no for an answer. While that doesn't really do anything to your points or arguments in this post, it's something that we can all agree on and know where this situation is going.
