I think most of us can agree that brackets is a problem.
It takes WAY too long. Brackets can go on for over an hours, and what’s the reward for sitting there? 1 single event key for the one single winner of this event. If 80 people join a brackets event, which is what brackets normally gets, and each match takes a minute, also very common, that’s a full 80 minutes of a single event. Let’s put that into perspective by comparing it to another event like TDM (Team Deathmatch.) TDM literally takes 10x less time than brackets, and it gives out 5x more rewards. So if a TDM is exactly 10x shorter than a brackets (which is just an estimated guess,) that’s equal to 50x More reward output than brackets, not to mention that TDM always has the player engaged in the game, while brackets has the player waiting scrolling youtube on their phone for the 20 minutes between their matches. So what we can see is there’s a major imbalance in events, so here are my suggestions to fix brackets.
1. Multiple matches at once.
Pretty self explanatory. More matches = faster events
2. Spawn closer together.
The beginning of the brackets match is always a bow game. Spawning 10s of blocks away from the other player forces you to bow for a long time before a melee battle. Spawning closer to the other player will encourage more melee. Instead of bowing forever in a brackets match. One or two missed bow shots could let the other player go in and get hits.
3. Both of these
4. Delete Brackets.
I don’t like this option. I don’t think brackets needs to be deleted, just reworked. If it is deleted, maybe a new event is added that brackets is swapped out for so all the players who had brackets get a new event?
So what do you think. Is my opinion worth anything, Should brackets stay or go? If this gets a decent response I’ll make a post tomorrow on how we fix lms, because I havent seen a winner in that for ages. But at least it doesn’t take as long as brackets.
Quick Edit: Brackets is something I would pay someone not to host. Literally.
