Decided to make a full post on this to help get the word and help get your ideas. Sorry if this is worded bad as I say at the end, it was to a reply on another thread at like 5 am and i was tired af lol. Feel free to start a debate or ask any questions.

Do not tell me to show this to council, I already have, I want the players ideas on the system

The current invaded punishment system needs a serious rework without having such forceful guidelines.

I've never been staff on a server that had a punishment system like invaded, rarely mutes were ever perm, let alone over 3 days unless its something really bad. Having a warning system or even just asking players to stop doing what there doing before a punishment can be given is way better then just immediate ban/mute for something that couldve been stopped by a staff member saying stop.

In general, invaded doesnt need to actually do anything for the server if they dont want to. Having 2 youtubers play is enough to keep the playerbase up and never have to worry about losing money or players. If you really think about it, invaded may be a 400-500 player server, but skeppy could fill the server in a matter of seconds with 1 twitter, insta or youtube video/post.

Due to that, they really dont need to rework anything if they dont want to. But invaded really needs to start focusing on the players who actually play the server because they find it fun, and players that are bigger within the community. The amount of people leaving the server right now is a lot, but it doesnt matter in the end due to the power skeppy has over the server.

I also have staffed on servers with youtubers and currently am, so you cant tell me that "this is how it needs to be for a popular server". No it doesnt, there is multiple different ways it can be improved to help create a more healthy environment for old and new players to be able to play. Warning system would be a absolute dream, and also just a general rework of scenarios and how mutes should work.

In the server im currently staff on, if a player is spamming they are told to stop, if they dont stop they receive a warning. This warning lasts for 1 week before resetting, if the player makes it through the week without breaking another rule associated to the warn, the warn expires and they are back to square 1. If they do break a rule associating to the warn, they will get muted for however long seems appropriate. All mutes regarding spam and most common chat offenses (caps, char spam, links etc) will only be up to 15m-1h depending on the severity. The only mutes that exceed this are obvious ones (racism, anything sexual, homophobic you get the gist).

Having players muted for sending 3 messages that are similar is insane, a easy "please dont repeat messages" goes a longer way then a 3 day mute that just says "Spam"

Players shouldn't be seeing the player reports section as a "easy report" for staff to mute someone. Its really corrupt, as player reports are meant for players breaking a rule. I understand that chat offenses are breaking rules, but that goes to my way of saying that they aren't even bad and would go a lot better with a warn/verbal warn. Player Reports should be more used for toxicity, hacking and other more malicious situations.

Take what you want from this, but we all know that the current punishment system is fucked and needs a rework

EDIT: If you have any questions, feel free to ask, im super open on the fact that I dont agree and I also wrote this at 5 am on my phone lol, so it may be worded bad.

Another edit: Warnings are not only verbal. It is a entire punishment system that is very well made and works well with servers. It would be mainly for minor chat offenses and such that would appear on the players history. This is to avoid mutes that may be for less malicious offenses that dont require as much force to show a player its wrong.

Invadedlands is a toxic community. With 50 People talking in chat at once, you can't just tell someone to "Stop spamming".

Most of the time staff are just in vanish anyways, and if they unvanish, a lot of the players would just wet themselves,

"warning" doesn't work on big servers like invaded, If everyone knew that they weren't gonna get muted for spamming or being toxic, the chat would be hella aids.

I see where you are coming from. It's kind of weird that you can get muted on the server fairly easily without any kind of warning.

Dont reply for the sake of it. it isn't weird, it's completely normal. If you are going to reply with just 1 sentence, don't bother please.

About perm mutes
You realize these mutes come after the player has received about, what? 10 mutes?
If a player has gotten 10 mutes he really deserves to be permanently muted.

About bans
So you're telling me, if a player is using an unfair advantage he should be given a warning before being banned so he could ruin tons of other people's experience before being banned?
Absolutely idiotic.

About the punishment system in your server
Players are usually given warnings before being muted. It is a thing that happens.
But if a player is being reported through the forums then there's no reason to give him a warning but just straight up mute them. They won't see that warning anyways.

Yes I agree invadedlands is a more toxic community when it comes to a MC server. What I mainly meant by the telling them to stop spamming part would mainly go for sb or survival, due to the smaller more chill playerbases. KitPvP is obviously the most toxic part about the community, which would involve more serious incidents that may happen. Note, that I did say mainly for spam they would get a warning or minor chat offences. Toxicity would be treated with a mute, as how it would be normally. The warning system would go for mainly minor chat offences, as toxicity and other "higher class" broken rules will be treated differently.

I know thats how staff works on invaded, but if they do it is pretty easy to control. Players can still look up to the mods while the mods do there job for the server. Focusing on keeping the playerbase stable and chat as least toxic as possible should also be a main focus. Again, staff shouldn't show favoritism, as thats kind of what im picking up from what you said, and must punish accordingly on the rule broken. Im just saying to rework the punishment system to make it more effective instead of driving people away with insanely long mutes for such small infractions.

Warnings work really well on big servers, the server i currently am staff on, opblocks, averages 400-500 and the warning system works insanely well from how i've been using it. The server isn't as toxic as invaded, but it still can be toxic, but it is able to show players that they are breaking a rule rather then a no-detail mute for something they may not have known what they did. Back to being toxic, I listed toxicity as a higher class offence, which will be taken more seriously then minor chat offenses. While the warning is active, they will get muted for however long is given if they break the rule again. I would recommend looking into how warning systems work on servers so you can get a better sense of what im trying to say

I mean you just replied with 1 sentence.

Added this sentence because it would be 1 and thats not ok!!

Yes I understand, but these mutes could also be for a generally different reason. I personally was perm muted because I didnt know the 3 message rule for about a month or so before I actually got into the server more. This was also the time when I first got back into mc and didnt really know about the rules. This lead me to have 5-6 mutes for spam that could have easily been avoided if I was warned once or even muted once that said to go over the rules. This can help anyone perm muted for something that isn't toxicity, or in general help avoid future punishments.

Ill go back and read for a sec to make sure I didnt word this horribly wrong, but the warning system is for Minor Chat Offenses. Bans and such for hacking would obviously be a perm ban without warning, as they are breaking a very important rule about the server. The warning system would go to incidents of spam, advertising, and other very small offences that could happen. As I said to fitzy, it would probably be better to research how warning systems are used to get a better understanding of how beneficial it can be for the server.

Ive personally never been given a verbal warning before being muted. Bringing back to the time I got muted for "promoting spam" while asking if anyone wanted a item I got from a vote key. This mute was 3days, given no warning and was absolutely idiotic in my opinion. Going back to what I said, its not only a verbal warning, theres a whole punishment system for warnings that is used on servers and has been on servers for a long time. If a player is reported and they get warned, they will log on to the warn. If the report is for a more malicious offence, it will be treated differently.

3 message rule? whats that
If you sent the same message 3 times in a span of 10 seconds it’s considered spam, however a lot of people just report people who sent the same message 3 times in a chat box which isn’t right considering the rules but they still get punished as staff can’t really tell the difference unless you have a clock

so if i say "say 14 for s4" 3 times in chat ill get muted

Thx so much

Okay, my take on the situation time, I got muted for 6 hours once for spam, now thats an advertising mute (If you advertise your stream ever 1-4 minutes, 5+ is okay. I got a 6 hour mute, Which then got turned into a 30 day for "Spamming" once i asked for proof or to at least tell me where i spammed I was told the staff didnt have to, I then went off yada yada and got a blacklist. When it all could've been avoided by just telling me the day I spammed, Meh whatever, Im still blacklisted. I'll take the punishment, 64 days blacklisted so far, probably never gonna get unblacklisted at all. So I guess im part of the blacklisted gang, :/
