Hey, Sploofie here. Recently I have been noticing issues popping up frequently, and today I have a list of 10 ways you could improve survival, attract new people, and altogether make it a better experience for us players. Keep in mind this is an opinionated list, so any constructive criticism is appreciated <3

1. Mob Spawns: I feel like mob spawns are an important aspect to making survival feel lively. A good idea would be limiting spawners / increasing prices and setting the difficulty to medium or hard, to allow more of a survival feel. This in my opinion is really important because its the main different between survival and creative or any other type of server like kitpvp or skyblock.
2. PVP: Now, this is controversial, but i believe adding pvp OUTSIDE of claims would really help decrease the boredom some players have expressed on the server. Im not saying pvp everyone, just in unclaimed spaces in the wild, to allow more natural fighting where you can also build, instead of a small warp pvp where you can only fight. This is much different from kitpvp, where the money, kits, gear, and map are all revolving around only fighting. If you don't like this idea, another ALTERNATIVE would be adding /claimpvp, where a player can allow pvp in any of his/her own claims, just like /claimexplosion. Again, this I feel is very important for a survival server, as what is there to survive from if there are no hostile mobs or other players to fight. If you ever do consider my suggestion, also considering removing /warp pvp if you ever add pvp inside the real survival world.
3. Reaction Rewards: Don't wanna flex, but I bet a lot of players have seen other players and I winning a lot of reactions, and I feel it should be more rewarding than 100$, which for perspective can only buy you one iron ingot or ender pearl. Increasing the reward to $10k, or even $5k, would encourage more participation instead of the same people just typing everytime.
4. Shop: I don't think the shop is built right. Diamonds, iron, and ender pearls are just so cheap, so are many of the spawners. In my mind, a diamond should be at least $100k and no spawner should be less than $1,000,000. Also, I believe less items should be sold in the shop, to motivate players to find items on their own in the actual survival world, instead of just getting a couple thousand dollars and getting stacks of diamonds and free stuff. Also, why sell diamond armor and swords in /shop and have them in /kit if there is no reason to use them, besides /warp pvp, where i notice is commonly empty.
5. Enchantment tables: Just fix them, they don't provide what they promise. For example, you think you are getting a book with unbreaking 2 but you actually get knockback 1. The enchantment tables therefore are completely random and it says something different than what it gives, and I think this needs a fix
6. Crates: A lot of players have complained about survival crates being a scam or useless. One reason is because every crate offers basically the same thing. The only ranks or spawners you are somehow "able to get" are Immortal and Titan rank, and Cow and Iron golem Spawners. Why not make it so that vote crates can give you squid or slime spawners, super or elite rank. Then make common keys give either mushroom or pig spawners, hero or legend rank. Finally, have rare keys give the same immortal or titan rank, but blaze or zombie spawners. Also, change up the rewards a bit. Players are only getting ores, money, and spawn eggs. Why not add beacons, wither/skeleton heads, saddles, blaze rods, ender pearls. Make it more exciting and suspenseful for people to open up their keys for supporting and voting for your server.
7: Reboot: Reboot times are broken. While reboot is meant the happen at 2am EST (6am GMT), the reboot is often delayed and the messages are often messed up, going from "Reboot in 2 minutes" to "Reboot in 10 minutes."
8: Mod Appearances: I've seen plenty of mods always on kitpvp or skyblock whenever I log on them, but what about Survival. Players that repeat a message 1 or 2 times often get muted for quite long, while the annoying ones that spam "Ban me" or "I'm Xraying!!" or any other unpleasant messages don't get muted for half an hour, an hour, maybe even 2 hours I don't know. I just think staff should start moderating survival more and booting the real nuisances. Another reason I feel this is a problem is because new players are always depending on other players to figure out things. I feel like improving /tutorial and adding help for spawners, auctions, and commands like /notify, which turn off mcmmo notifications and /ignore, which help a player ignore someone bothering them in messages. Or mods could just be online to help any new players with any problems they are encountering. ( I have also noticed a TON OF PLAYERS having difficulties navigating and figuring out /trade, with the different increments, different types of trading, and so on.
9: Tpa Trapping/Scamming: I have 2 ways to fix some of the annoying problems players have when dealing with those who scam and tpa trap. First, giving a warning to any players if they are being teleported into /warp pvp. This would be a nice way to warn players 50% of the time they are getting randomly tpaed by a killer. Second, disabling nametags for spawners. I've seen quite a few players quitting the server after buying a fake spawner in auctions that wasn't what they were expecting. Disabling nametags for spawners wouldn't change anything about survival, just reduce the amount of scams going on.
10: Commands: First off, a lot of players have told me they want to keep /fix and /fly, which is understandable. BUT, what about /heal, /ext, /feed, and /ci. /ci is the most useless command i've ever seen and i don't think it needs to exist lol. Also, i feel like /heal, /ext and /feed just ruin the point of survival and also food. We already have lots of food to buy in /shop, and god apples/fire resistance potions to basically extinguish ourselves. Using those commands just feels like cheating and creative mod, (/fly and /fix are also overpowered in my opinion)
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Making it so we can wear 2 tags at the same time
Allowing us to /send xp (amount) instead of using trade
Allowing defaults to /reclaim super kit, because every other rank /reclaims a kit higher than their own
Increasing survival player capacity to AT LEAST 200

+1, nice post. Some stuff can't be added/would be difficult to implement/would cause problems but overall you have some pretty good suggestions.
I absolutely disagree with the increasing survival capacity tho, unless the server is upgraded and capable of handling the players.
 
i really cant be asked to read all of that but all i can say is...
these stuff wont get implemented cause suggestions are from council and suggestions dont get added from council

They might consider some parts of the suggestion, change something, but implement it anyway. It's worth a try anyway
 
Most of these have been suggested already.
For the pvp suggestions, it's survival and not factions. If you want a server where pvp is enabled everywhere with claims go play on a faction server.
Mob spawning is disabled for lag purposes. That's also why the amount of slots is limited.

For the mod aspect. You have no clue when they're on and when they aren't. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they're not there. Of course some spammers get through and some don't. Keep in mind the time of your mute depends on your previous mutes. Skeppy spammers are most of the time new players and as such don't have many mutes prior. While active players might have many mutes before. So it doesn't matter why you were muted. If you were muted 7 times before that you may expect a couple of days worth of mutes or even weeks. Honestly your fault for being muted before (it's so easy not to get muted).

1 2 3 6 7 9 have all been suggested before.

4 face it diamonds are just not that useful. I don't think anyone really buys them from the store. Also having them be worth so little is a good counter measure against xrayers, cause atm xraying is absolutely useless and a dumb thing to do.

Default is not a rank and therefore does not have a /reclaim. You start with /kit default and that's it.
Wearing two tags at the same time would be obnoxious. Having a tag and a rank can be obnoxious and thus having 2 would clutter the chat way too much. But that's just my opinion.
The trade gui is perfectly fine for trading exp. I think the command would be way less powerful.
Again more slots == more lag. Please keep this in mind.
Ok for the pvp, I just wanted to say that survival and factions are very different gamemodes, and pvp isn't what seperates one from another. Factions is all about looting and raiding, while teaming up to create "factions" or clans and warring with other groups. The baseline criteria for survival is always building and "surviving", which in my opinion is fighting with enemy players or mobs. For the disabled mob spawning, this is why i suggested removing/limiting some of the spawners on the server, because we have thousands and thousands of spawners always creating new mobs, but these are always for farming purposes, and I honestly think mob spawning should be priority before mob spawners. For the moderators, I notice a lot of the mods that do visit survival are never in vanish, and even if they are, that doesn't mean they shouldn't punish players, because often you can tell a mod isn't on when someone is disrupting the server for example by spamming, and aren't punished for a long time. For #4, I was only use diamonds as an example to show how unbalanced shop prices are. The reason i suggested a different way to send xp or mcmmo levels is because a lot of other players have struggled to use /trade and don't know how it works. Also, i see what you're saying about 2 tags being a little obnoxious but i think a lot of players would enjoy being able to use multiple tags. I do believe default is considered a rank, as it has its own /sethome and /vault perks just like every other rank, and just because its free doesn't mean it should be treated any differently. For increasing player slots, I just think with Skeppy also now improving pvp lands, it shouldn't be much of a money problem to at least improve survival performance or memory a little

Personally I would take this to a new server (increase cap to like 300), and make it 1.9 with 1.8 pvp
 
I agree with a few things, but mods are often in vanish, but i often met mods, who were online on Survival.
The enchantments always have a ? on the end bc it is random, and according to your post you want to have this 'survival' vibe and isn't it 'more exciting' to not know what enchantment it is going to be? Yes, it is really frustrating but i think it is part of the gameplay.
Now, to the shop, i don't feel like there really are things to change. The shop is a help, for players who don't want to mine and just want to buy the stuff. If you personally don't want to buy those things, then just don't. It is just an opportunity for people who just want to buy those things. The same goes for commands. You can buy those commands, if you think that you want to use them. If you don't really want to 'cheat' or be overpowered just don't buy it.
But that's just my opinion lol

I would like them to add back Chest sign shops because they where very basic and easy to use

BUT, what about /heal, /ext, /feed, and /ci. /ci is the most useless command i've ever seen and i don't think it needs to exist lol. Also, i feel like /heal, /ext and /feed just ruin the point of survival and also food. We already have lots of food to buy in /shop, and god apples/fire resistance potions to basically extinguish ourselves. Using those commands just feels like cheating and creative mod, (/fly and /fix are also overpowered in my opinion)
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Making it so we can wear 2 tags at the same time
Allowing us to /send xp (amount) instead of using trade
Allowing defaults to /reclaim super kit, because every other rank /reclaims a kit higher than their own
Increasing survival player capacity to AT LEAST 200

I agree with a few things, but mods are often in vanish, but i often met mods, who were online on Survival.
The enchantments always have a ? on the end bc it is random, and according to your post you want to have this 'survival' vibe and isn't it 'more exciting' to not know what enchantment it is going to be? Yes, it is really frustrating but i think it is part of the gameplay.
Now, to the shop, i don't feel like there really are things to change. The shop is a help, for players who don't want to mine and just want to buy the stuff. If you personally don't want to buy those things, then just don't. It is just an opportunity for people who just want to buy those things. The same goes for commands. You can buy those commands, if you think that you want to use them. If you don't really want to 'cheat' or be overpowered just don't buy it.
But that's just my opinion lol
The fact that moderators are in vanish is fine, but that doesn't give an excuse to avoid punishing spammers or say a racist comment. This is the reason I've been able to notice when moderators aren't online, because they aren't acting against obviously broken rules. For the enchantment table, yes I understand it might be more exciting, but for new players to get the exp, get the diamond tools, get the enchantment table and the books and the lapiz all prepared, only to not get the enchant that you can hover over and it will tell you which enchant is guaranteed, especially when some players have to keep sticking their tool/book in and out to find the enchant they are looking for. For the shop, making items more expensive would give a more 'survival' vibe that is needed for players to feel like they are playing survival, not creative mod, where many rare items in normal survival are easily available. Maybe name the server something besides survival.
 
Personally I would take this to a new server (increase cap to like 300), and make it 1.9 with 1.8 pvp
Yeah, I see no reason to not change to a later version, because the only important reason for having 1.8.9 is combat, and if there is nothing to combat, why keep it this way. I'm sure the server could handle version change.
 
I do believe they should bring back natural mob spawning, it was a lot more fun back then.
Survival has turned into a bit of everyone just sitting at spawners and grinding way too much, which in my opinion isn't fun for a "survival" server

again with increasing cap? IL staff already upgraded the server; increasing cap to 300 isn't as easy as changing a number, technically it is but it involves a ton of prerequisites and 300 players on a server will end up crashing it every few minutes, with constant borderline unplayable lag.
Also, InvadedLands relies on its ranks to make an income; if the server was to update to 1.9, it would be no longer following the rules of the new EULA for 1.9+ servers.

This is wrong, EULA holds for all servers, version literally doesn't matter. It's just a misconception a lot of people have.
They've started to blacklist servers from 1.9+, right? So the server still can't update or it'll get blacklisted.
