Build Application Rant

This is about how you deny build apps, spoiler alert, it's awful.

The Current System Is Terrible

Right now, it's just your generic copy-paste that gives no actual reason why the person was denied. Posting your message provides the same insight as just saying "denied". It is honestly way too general and leaves many players confused about why they were denied. It is honestly extremely lazy. It is honestly disrespectful to the applicant, who probably spent a good amount of time on their app, to be hit with the same message everyone else gets. Build applications get the same copypaste. It is honestly frustrating that you can't spend a minute to give them feedback that will actually help people. Even the accepted applications get a copypaste. You couldn't even spend the time to write something original for even the applications you liked.

tl;dr: It is the same copy paste and provides no reason why the applicant was denied.

How I Feel It Can Be Improved

I feel it is 100% possible for you to spend the time and write feedback that will actually help the player like "Please improve on your structure builds.", or "Please work on your variety.". If that's too much work for you, which it doesn't seem like much, maybe stay on top of them. They often take about a month to be reviewed, just for the same message as everyone else. For example, denied staff applications get actual feedback on how applicants can improve. New build applications aren't even made that often. If you do them as soon as possible, it makes it very easy to have enough time to write good, helpful feedback.

tl;dr: write meaningful and original feedback

I really hope you decide to take my feedback and use it to improve how you review applications.

+1

Just to give an example of why this should be changed:
This app
and this app
should not get the same denial message

I agree. Also I feel there should be higher punishment for making joke builder applications (obvious ones) ass there could be an argument made that the staff would have to take more time reviewing joke applications. I think that there should be higher punishment for obvious joke builder applications. (Ex. not being able to make an application for 3 months or something like that.)

i do agree that decent applications should be given a reason, i absolutely love constructive criticism and there's no doubt that people who are genuinely applying would love it too

it's not that big of a hassle either. their job is to look at an application and deny it if there's something wrong- and if they see something is wrong, they consciously have already found what it is and it'd only take a few seconds to write it down

Also if Luke says "Oh to much work I am lazy person" give builders a forums role and perms to handle build apps
maybe not all builders but maybe people who are builders for a year get an invisible rank automatically where they can deal w it (only denying tho, like how mods only deny)

+1 I agree this should be added because this helps everyone in this situation. For da staff it will give them a more educated build team and good for the applicant to understand and learn from their mistake. Sure its more work for them but I would guarantee the amount of builders accepted will be higher in da long run.
