if u read the thread then u'd maybe understand a bit more but heres a quote from him that might help uHe told me before the reset all chucks were loaded before the reset. He made the changes to /fly to help performance issues because he didn't want people flying around to load chucks...BUT THEY WERE "PRE LOADED" He makes sooooooo much sense
"Minecraft cannot keep up with a bunch of players mass flying around loading chunks, entities and the such for a prolonged period of time. It literally cannot tick and garbage collect things quick enough to stop the lag that would occur in such a scenario.
Minecraft doesn't keep pre-generated chunks loaded in it's memory, nor does it waste precious CPU time in ticking them. It saves them to the disk, and loads them again as necessary. What we're trying to prevent here is people mass loading chunks. We've done a lot of work to ensure that the server can keep up with our player base. We have pre-generated the map, we did finely tweak the spawning rates, and yes, we did add temporary flight."
