I wanted to make a post addressing the recent hostility towards those who are still pending for staff applications.
I understand that some of you are quite upset that some good applicants were denied. I, too, was hoping for certain people like Laylim, Redot, and James to be accepted. However, the managers ultimately decided that they weren't going to accept them this season. It sucks, but they should use this as a way to improve upon themselves and come back as an even better candidate next season. This isn't to say there is anything wrong with them now - from what I've seen and heard, they're all great people. I'm just trying to look for the positives in a not-so-great situation. Everyone who was still pending these past couple weeks were, for the most part, good applicants. If you were denied, that doesn't necessarily mean that you "weren't qualified". If you were one of the applicants still recently pending, chances are there were simply one or two minimal issues with you or your application that can be worked on and fixed for next season.
As for the applicants who are still in, the "oldgens" and majority of the KitPVP community in general shouldn't assume that they are a bad batch just because they aren't well-known on KitPVP. If they are still pending, it means that the managers have deemed them good enough to qualify for a staff position. Being well-known on kit is not a requirement for staff. Keep in mind that some of the most popular staff members we have now (I'm not going to name names) were so-called "randoms" before becoming staff. You just have to be patient and get to know them.
Speaking of the "oldgens" on this server, many of you seem to have a fear of change. I understand you grew familiar with the people who were on the server at the same time as you. Welcoming new people who you've never met before can be uncomfortable at first, but you have to push through it. Change is an inevitable part of everything that we all need to adapt to at some point or another. If you find yourself becoming angry about new players joining, ask yourself this: "Why am I angry?" I believe that meeting more people who enjoy the same thing(s) you do should be a positive experience, not a negative one. If it's a negative experience for you, what can you do to make it more positive?
I'm well aware that I will be receiving some rather toxic replies to this post, so I'm going to say it now: If your reply is simply a toxic insult or attempt to push my buttons, I'm just not going to respond to you.
If you have an issue with me or what I've said in this post, please don't hesitate to start a conversation with me or message me on discord.
I appreciate all of you, even if you've been toxic to me. Everyone deserves a second chance and it's never too late to change the way you treat those around you. Being kind is not a negative personality trait.
Love you all ❤
