The Remaining Applicants & The Toxicity Towards Them

I wanted to make a post addressing the recent hostility towards those who are still pending for staff applications.

I understand that some of you are quite upset that some good applicants were denied. I, too, was hoping for certain people like Laylim, Redot, and James to be accepted. However, the managers ultimately decided that they weren't going to accept them this season. It sucks, but they should use this as a way to improve upon themselves and come back as an even better candidate next season. This isn't to say there is anything wrong with them now - from what I've seen and heard, they're all great people. I'm just trying to look for the positives in a not-so-great situation. Everyone who was still pending these past couple weeks were, for the most part, good applicants. If you were denied, that doesn't necessarily mean that you "weren't qualified". If you were one of the applicants still recently pending, chances are there were simply one or two minimal issues with you or your application that can be worked on and fixed for next season.

As for the applicants who are still in, the "oldgens" and majority of the KitPVP community in general shouldn't assume that they are a bad batch just because they aren't well-known on KitPVP. If they are still pending, it means that the managers have deemed them good enough to qualify for a staff position. Being well-known on kit is not a requirement for staff. Keep in mind that some of the most popular staff members we have now (I'm not going to name names) were so-called "randoms" before becoming staff. You just have to be patient and get to know them.

Speaking of the "oldgens" on this server, many of you seem to have a fear of change. I understand you grew familiar with the people who were on the server at the same time as you. Welcoming new people who you've never met before can be uncomfortable at first, but you have to push through it. Change is an inevitable part of everything that we all need to adapt to at some point or another. If you find yourself becoming angry about new players joining, ask yourself this: "Why am I angry?" I believe that meeting more people who enjoy the same thing(s) you do should be a positive experience, not a negative one. If it's a negative experience for you, what can you do to make it more positive?

I'm well aware that I will be receiving some rather toxic replies to this post, so I'm going to say it now: If your reply is simply a toxic insult or attempt to push my buttons, I'm just not going to respond to you.

If you have an issue with me or what I've said in this post, please don't hesitate to start a conversation with me or message me on discord.
I appreciate all of you, even if you've been toxic to me. Everyone deserves a second chance and it's never too late to change the way you treat those around you. Being kind is not a negative personality trait.

Love you all ❤

The change is awful since the oldgens have to see people minimodding and random people who came just to the time at staff apps. Nobody is fearing it, however we are fearing who is coming to the change. People like @McDonalds laid perfect points on why the staff season is really bad.

You're partially proving my point here. Notice how, even when talking about an entirely different subject (people who joined forums just to apply for staff), you still call people who you don't know randoms and imply that it's a bad thing that you don't know them. Yes, I agree that it's better to join the forums long before applications open to better your chances, but if people joined the forums to apply and are still pending, clearly they have other qualities that make up for it. The oldgens not knowing people does not make those people bad.

Bruh I'm so upset I wrote what I felt was such a good application and it got denied because I joke around in my profile posts, which is "immature."

Thing is, I partially agree with everything you said. It was that you majestically showed up when staff apps opened up.

I have literally seen no toxicity towards you guys. That being said I have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. I’m rooting for you and Candi!

Edit: I’m stupid I didn’t see “KitPVP” lol my bad sorry! Best thing you can did is ignore it. I know it’s tough but don’t make the mistake I made. I’m still rooting for you!

Even if this is true (which it isn’t really, she wasn’t as active before staff applications but she still was semi active), being active on the forums is just one of the things they look for in staff.

You are not immature, and this is the basis of my denial reason, too. For any staff seeing this or future posts, we’re going to prove to you that we’re ready for this position whilst we wait for the new season.

Neptune, thank you for such an insightful post, along with the mention :)

Please keep in mind that not all the remaining applicants are perfect. Some that I have already mentioned are completely fake and it would be a shame to see them become staff as they did not apply to help the server. Other than that, there are some new people that I am still rooting for; I make sure to voice my opinion in a way that won't come off as full-on toxic so that people can actually see and understand the points I try to make when giving my reasoning as to why I don't believe a certain applicant should become staff. If I don't want someone as staff, there's always reasoning behind it.

Other than that, good luck!

This post honestly needed to be said. I mean just because they are famous and known around the server doesn’t mean they are a perfect candidate.
But, it isn’t really healthy to bash on applicants who applied as trainee is a chance for them to prove their worth, so you can’t really make assumptions without seeing what they can do.
